Samantha Govender is an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies and is currently the Deputy Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Education at the University of Zululand in South Africa. She holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum Studies from the University of Zululand. Her scholarly and professional research field of interests are curriculum and teacher development, teaching, learning and assessment in higher and tertiary education. She has supervised Doctoral and Masters’ students to completion and has published several articles and book chapters in accredited journals. Samantha has also peer reviewed numerous scholarly articles and examined master’s and doctoral thesis for different institutions. She has presented research papers at various local and international conferences. She is part of the Fundisa for Change Professional Learning Community and steered the Keep It Cool Climate Change Education Project. She is also currently involved in initiatives for Education for Sustainable Development, climate action and environmental learning with an emphasis on teacher education.

Mr. Jesus Parena Santillan is a PhD candidate in Mathematics Education and a faculty member of Camarines Norte State College. An active researcher, he has numerous publications in education, community development, environmental management, and quality management systems. He is also a policy and instructional developer, a reviewer for Scopus-indexed journals, and a recipient of awards in research and instruction.

Dr. Maria B. Cequeña is Academic Department Head, Catholic Filipino Academy Homeschool, Quezon City, Philippines. She is an educator, researcher, author, trainer, and reviewer of some international Scopus- indexed journals. She co-authored High School English textbooks and a collection of poems. She has also published a number of research articles on ESL writing, flipped learning, metacognition and reading comprehension.

Dr Nompumelelo Madonda

Dr Nompumelelo Madonda is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria, specialising in Foundation Phase teaching, Educational Psychology, and Early Childhood Education. She holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Management from the University of South Africa, a Further Diploma in English from the University of Cambridge, and a Primary Teachers’ Diploma from Mpumalanga College of Education. In her role, Dr Madonda teaches in the Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) programme, supervises postgraduate students at Honours, Master’s, and PhD levels, and coordinates both the Community Engagement portfolio and the Foundation Phase Bachelor of Education programme. Her research focuses on play pedagogy, equity, and inclusion through Indigenous Knowledge Systems in Early Childhood Education. She is deeply committed to advancing social justice in education and fostering inclusive, culturally responsive teaching practices.
